Ferretti Vini is in Case Cocconi, a hamlet of Campegine, in that part of the Po Valley halfway between Parma and Reggio Emilia, the river Po and the hills that anticipate the Apennines. From the great-grandfather Sante in the early 1920s, the family is linked to the tradition of Lambrusco, with the first idea of vinification and the following conferment of the grapes. In 2013 Denise, a graduate in oenology, embarked on a new path by turning to that past and that tradition that the area seems to have forgotten. With the help of his sister Elisa, he intends to recover acts and gestures that have accompanied the generations of his family and to rediscover the authentic traits of traditional wines. Today they lead 2.5 hectares with more than 15 native varieties in vineyards that are up to 70 years old. A great work by hand in the vineyard where the wine is actually "born" and only spontaneous fermentations without any recourse to invasive interventions in the cellar. And then wines with natural refermentation in the bottle with long aging on the lees. The spirit and sincerity of this land is the most characterizing element of these wines: they are frank, lively, joyful and authentic, perhaps the best testimony of the identity of these places.
