Winemakers since forever and originating both from winemaking families, Claudio Rosso and Piero Nebiolo united their knowledge in 2002 to found the Cantina Roera near the city of Costigliole d’Asti. They cultivate a surface of 7.5 hectares, planted for more than half with Barbera and with the remaining surface cultivated with Nebbiolo, Arneis, Cortese, Freisa and Chardonnay. Parsels with heterogeneous characteristics, from altitudes to exposures to the composition of the soil. All aspects of extreme importance on which Claudio and Piero have identified specific characteristics, which together with the varietal which has been found suitable enhance the quality of the fruit. The natural management of the Vineyard, with total absence of herbicides, chemical fertilizers and insecticides and the same philosophy is applied in the winery, through spontaneous fermentations and without any additives to enhance in the wine the work performed in the vineyard.
