We are a family estate, we work on a majority of old vines (the oldest being 118 years old), imprint of the work of 5 generations. We cultivate our vines with passion, in organic farming and biodynamics. Most of our vines are goblet pruned, we strive to take care of our pruning so as not to put too much strain on the stumps in terms of energy, this is the reason why we like that the stump, once pruned, be rid of the parts dry, dead and other discharges. At the end of the pruning of each plot, we usually dig up the weeds with a pickaxe, a tedious job but which bears fruit, which allows us to benefit from a natural grass cover rich in species diversity and free of weeds. competitive weeds such as "slimy inula" or fenugreek. We work the soil lightly (scraping) in the fall after the harvest and in the spring (usually in March or April, it depends on the year, sometimes not at all) using a tractor for the young vines, a chase for the older vines and sometimes on horseback for the very old vines (the centenarians, we have 3) in anticipation of our passage for the biodynamic preparations. We are convinced of the benefits and energies of biodynamic practices which are constantly evolving (the years go by and our practice is expanding with new preparations, the latest being fern maceration, a repellent for grape worms). We appreciate the plant cover and the auxiliaries that compose it, which is why we mow the grass at medium height (protective epidermis of the soil against excess heat). Work in the vineyard is our priority because it is the mirror of our wines. We try to maintain a balance around our vines and develop the presence of auxiliaries and the biotope, for example by installing bat nesting boxes -mouse. Once we have accompanied the fruit until the harvest, we find the same rigorous motivation in the cellar (sorting and cleanliness), we demand to bring only healthy grapes to our cellar because we work without chemical additives except 1G/HL of sulfur when bottling.Our principle is not to distort the wines by filtration and fining, our method: precise racking.Nesting on a sunny terroir, our desire is to create a balance between the character of the wines of the Hautes Corbières with the freshness, the fruit. f
