Domaine Benjamin Taillandier
In 2007, Benjamin quit his job in the Frontonnais and decided to create the Domaine Taillandier in Caunes-Minervois. The adventure begins with a few hectares of old Grenache and Syrah vines which he lovingly cultivates, then he quickly adds a few hectares of Cinsault, Carignan and Terret Gris, an old forgotten grape from which he hopes to make a good white. Today the estate extends over 18 hectares of vines and to promote biodiversity olive trees and fruit trees have been planted.
For him, the wine is mainly made in the vineyard where a lot of work is done to obtain healthy and living soils. Everything is done by hand, in an artisanal way with the least possible intervention, it is also certified organic in 2011. What motivates Benjamin Taillandier is above all the pleasure of making wines full of joviality and generosity, in organic farming in a natural way (no yeast, very little sulfur), which we share and with which we enjoy, wines from friends, living wines. For Benjamin, there is no doubt: this is the real Languedoc.
His desire to share and give people a taste gave birth to a friendly place "La Cantine du Curé" in Caunes-Minervois. You can taste not only their wines but also those of winegrower friends in an unpretentious bucolic setting, where villagers meet and vacationers make a detour to feast on the flavors of the south while sipping the vintages.
