Formerly a sommelier, I took over this plot out of a passion for natural wine and the Alpine hillsides.
The vineyard is made up of two plots in the places called "Sur La Rivaz" and "Les Terreaux", on the western slopes of Villeneuve, in the Haut-Lac region, very close to Château de Chillon. Most of the grape varieties are old Chasselas vines, a traditional grape variety from the Lake Geneva region, and I have the chance to cultivate a diversity of different grape varieties, with Pinot Gris, Malbec, Merlot, Chardonnay, Dornfelder, Gamaret, Garanoir and Pinot Meunier.
Around 1ha of vines on a hillside, at an altitude of 550 meters, facing South-West, facing Lake Geneva and its unique natural island where a tree stands, the planting of which remains mysterious.
The vines are located under the "Rochers de Naye", a mountain in the Vaudois pre-Alps composed mainly of limestone rocks, culminating at an altitude of 2042 meters. The soils are clay-limestone-siliceous with moraines from the last glaciation of the Rhône.
The vines are grown without synthetic products. No chemical weedkillers are used. The grass is maintained as much as possible in order to promote biodiversity, maintain living soils and the development of mycorrhizae. The only treatments carried out are sulfur and copper sprays in order to prevent and protect the vines from possible cryptogamic diseases. All work in the vineyard is carried out by hand and the harvest is done in small boxes.
The wines are vinified without any inputs or added sulphites, without fining or filtration. All wines are classified as VDP - Vin de Pays Suisse, for reasons of legislative freedom.
