Cantine Matrone is a small company that produces natural wines on the southern slope of Vesuvius. We cultivate 5 hectares of our own vineyards, in addition there are another 3 hectares of woodland and 1 hectare of fruit trees (grown for personal use) including citrus, olive and fig trees. Organic farming, green manure, organic compost and heaps of horse manure in the vineyard. Spontaneous fermentations, very low sulfur almost always below 10 mg/litre, no clarification in the cellar. We use steel tubs and plastic food vats. Only self-grown grapes from local vines, recovery of old almost extinct native vines and old production methods, search for effective methods against the damage of climate change, through reforestation, mulching and selection of late-cycle native varieties. No wine tourism activities for commercial purposes. We are registered with Vinnatur, in 2024 the organic agriculture certification will arrive, which began in 2021 at Valoritalia.
