Santei is a small family winery, founded in 2008 by SANdra and MaTEI, a biologist with a PhD and a mathematician, but most of all two passionate wine & food enthusiasts. Getting sick of the pressure and mindset in multinational corporations, they left director jobs and became farmers. Their vision was to combine the best slopes of Vipava hills (Slovenia) and their respect for the nature to offer wine-lovers an unforgettable wine experience. Santei wines are organically certified since 2018 and Demeter certified since 2021 vintage. At Santei they proudly take care of almost 30.000 vines, 150 olive trees, a small herd of sheep, two sheepdogs, a cat, a few hens, lavander garden and a vegetable garden for the family needs. Most of the work in the vineyards, including the harvest is done by hand. Santei wines are made exclusively from Santei grapes and are naturally fermented. They contain nothing but healthy grapes and a minimum amount of sulphur.
