Vino Od Francuza

We are a small winery situated in central Slovakia in a little village - Devičie. We, it’s David Papillon and Darina Géciová, David is french and Darina Slovak. That’s why the winery is called Víno od francúza (the wine from the French in Slovak). We found a charming village with great volcanic terroir which was forgotten and this terroir has great potential to make good quality wine. We planted our first hectar in 2020. Our first wine was born in 2018 out of organic quality grapes grown in central Slovakian winemaking region. We buy our grapes from a friend winemaker also from volcanic terroir, handpicked, organic certified. Since 2019 our wine are bio certified. Our wines are produced with passion and love and contain only grapes and a pinch of sulfur. We do not bind our wine by exact recipe. The wine shall be as the grapes are. We believe that from good grapes, we will produce good wine with minimum interference and additives. Fermentation takes place spontaneously, bottling is being done by gravity.
