Tierra de Peña is located in the Vallde de Colón, in the state of Querétaro. It is a family vineyard where we seek to return to the origins, accompanying the grape throughout its growth process to enhance its unique and natural qualities, producing natural wine and providing an incomparable flavor that only nature can give us. We have 7 hectares of planted vines and 5 productive hectares. We work with red grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Tempranillo and the white variety Moscato and Chardonnay. (New varieties (2022): Cabernet Franc and Viognier). In the vineyard he raises the idea of a project that supports a tenuous and subtle design that discards any invasive character in its environment. Beyond the viticultural plan, the project pursues objectives of integration, social benefit and respect for the region's habitat. Some permaculture techniques are worked through the seasonal intervention of animal and vegetable systems such as chickens, which during fruitless periods are in charge of pest and herb control, and while they do so, they fertilize the soil with their excrement and till their fair measure. Horse-drawn animal traction is used for plowing, due to the environmental exchange that this practice generates and the low intervention that this entails in our soils.
