The company was founded in 2007 in a small garage in the hills of upper Valpolicella.
With the construction of the new cellar in Marcellise in 2011, our journey towards natural wines began, which was completed in 2017 with our entry into Vinnatur, the natural winemakers' association.
Today, Terre di Pietra is a vibrant company, committed to the environment, the local area, and tradition.
We produce around 25,000 bottles a year, and our 6 hectares of vineyards are located in different locations in the province of Verona. The wines that best represent us are those dedicated to our 5 Crus: each vineyard has its own label, which becomes the pure expression of its terroir, with the characteristics given by its soil, exposure, altitude, and microclimate.
The work is entirely manual, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Treatments are kept to a minimum: when necessary, we use sulfur, propolis, chestnut tannin, and biomit (derived from plant extracts), but we prioritize natural treatments such as careful defoliation and mating disruption. In the cellar, fermentations are spontaneous and uncontrolled; we prefer concrete to steel and wood, and the sulfur content never exceeds 1 g/hl during aging and 1 g/hl at bottling. Pruning, harvesting, punching down, and bottling: everything is done by hand; we don't use machinery. We uphold ancient traditions, and to do so, we let nature guide us.
