The vast vineyards surrounding the estate are located and distributed throughout the various sites on our estate. La Tavola dei Cavalieri is the highest-altitude property, at 900 meters above sea level, and encompasses almost a hectare of Sangiovese vineyards. It also features a pig and sheep farm, which produces top-quality products .
Tenuta Baroni Campanino was founded in 2006 in the hills of the Umbrian Apennines, behind the city of Assisi. The estate takes its name from the Baroni Campanino, an ancient and noble family of the Kingdom of Naples, today a constant source of inspiration for the preservation of their values and philosophy through meticulous care of the land . A place of charm and beauty, where attention to the unique and characteristic aspects of the location is highlighted in every detail: in the authentic food, in the biodynamic wine production, and in the organization of recreational activities within the estate. The exclusive location, elegant facilities, and high-quality products also make the estate an ideal and evocative place for organizing events.
The Campanino vineyards are located between 500 and 900 meters above sea level in the Umbrian Apennines, within the protected area of the Mount Subasio National Park. This particular and unique location tells the story of an adventure: heroic viticulture. This term refers to a type of cultivation carried out in extreme conditions, characterized by steeper terrain than traditional cultivations.
These slopes at Tenuta Baroni Campanino are extremely challenging: the lowest point of one of the vineyards is 500 meters above sea level, with a difference in elevation of about 100 meters from the highest point. In these vineyards, manual cultivation is necessary, as the sloping terrain does not allow for the passage of agricultural machinery. To address the difference in height caused by the slope , we have created steps, anchor points, or used ropes and sticks. All this has given rise to our heroism.
We have dedicated ten hectares to vineyards to produce a wine that can tell its unique story every year, aiming to create a healthy habitat that allows the vines to grow in symbiosis with nature, intervening only when necessary. Our vineyards are cultivated according to the principles of biodynamics, adhering to the organic certification. Interventions in the vineyard and cellar respect the phases of the moon, and fermentation and aging temperatures are never controlled, leaving nature to express the wines' full potential.
Our entire viticulture revolves around the complex combination of diverse soil and climate characteristics: altitude, light, soil, and the presence of natural biodiversity generate a vocation for harmony, expressed by the naturalness of the place. The less an agricultural system is modified, the more this vocation manifests itself.
