About
A juicy red with a bright soul and a dark edge. Akai blends mainly Pinot Noir with a touch of Portugieser and Dornfelder – all vinified separately on the skins for 10–14 days, around 30% whole bunches to bring gentle grip and structure. Aged for 12 months on full lees in stainless steel and bottled in August 2024. The Pinot Noir leads with freshness, length and notes of sour cherry and light spice. Portugieser fills the mid-palate with soft red fruits – think wild berries and just-ripe raspberries – giving the wine a round, supple body. Dornfelder brings depth and a whisper of darker fruit, herbs and cold spice on the finish. Low in alcohol, juicy and vivid – this is red wine for all seasons: chilled in summer, gently warmed in winter. Perfect for pizza, pasta, smoky barbecue and everything that comes off the grill. Or just pour a glass on the terrace and let it shine.
