Domaine Blanc Plume - Raphaël Colin
The Domaine Blanc Plume was born from the idea of the resilience of nature, that our passage through these terroirs is only ephemeral. “We only occupy the land of our children for a short time. So it is up to us to take care of it, to be as honest as possible with ourselves about the choices we make, the simplest, and the most respectful of this wealth in order to be able to transmit this heritage in its most beautiful spirit. »
The 8 hectares of vines are certified organic and Demeter, there are 2 white grape varieties, 5 red grape varieties and the vines are 15 to 80 years old.
The precepts of biodynamics are obvious, they reveal the terroirs and allow the wines to best express their identities. Because this is how Raphaël conceives his activity: "in full awareness of the existence of the infinitely small and the immensely large".
The universe influences us (like the tides) and the micro-organisms that abound in the subsoil give life to our terroirs. Viticulture must be respectful, organic and biodynamic to allow the most natural and healthy winemaking possible.
It is also necessary to reconnect with the practices of our ancestors by using animal traction for the work of the soil of old Carignan.
The vinification is carried out only with indigenous yeasts.
The sulfur levels in the wine must be reduced year after year, each manipulation must be as precise as possible.
Depending on the plot selections and aging, the wines are made in stainless steel vats, in old barrels or in 700-litre concrete vats in the shape of eggs.
