From mathematics to vineyards, the step was taken in 2016. The project of Aurélie Besnard and Paul Chereau was built little by little: from three vats in a garage to the birth of a small farm where chickens, a dog, cats, sheep and children frolic happily.
The vines were gathered and planted here and there, from Castelnau-de-Montmiral, where the farm is located, to Lisle-sur-Tarn for the furthest reaches. In total, 6 hectares are cultivated using biodynamic farming methods to support the biodiversity desired and necessary for the balance of life.
The wines of Arpette are varied and made from grape varieties typical of the Gaillac region: mauzac, loin de l'œil, verdanel, ondenc for the whites and braucol, prunelart, duras for the reds.
In the vineyard, the grapes are harvested by hand and in the winery, the living character of the wine which ferments thanks to indigenous yeasts is sought: no technical interventions that could alter bacterial life, nor inputs; except, if necessary, for sulfites in very small quantities.
No orange wines at the moment.
