Maxime Magnon
Established for almost 20 years in Villeneuve-les-Corbières, Maxime Magnon has, so to speak, restored the Corbières appellation to its former glory.
Originally from Burgundy, Maxime studied at the agricultural high school in Davayé and learned with the older children (he even wiped his panties on the school benches with Laurent Cazottes, that's to say to you!) Before choosing to settle in the South-East.
He works there vines 80 years old on average, an area of 14 hectares (8.5 in red and the rest in white). In the vineyard, following in the footsteps of his friend Barral, the cows and other animals deliciously weed the plots and enrich the soils, no chemicals, minimal interventions.
The harvest is manual, the whole bunches macerate at low temperature, indigenous yeasts, no input and low sulphiting at bottling. This style of winemaking, known as the "Beaujolaise method", makes its wines wonderful UFOs from the Corbières appellation.
