Located on the Aude coast within the Fitou appellation, our estate extends across the communes of La Palme, Leucate and
Roquefort-des-Corbières. The vineyard covers 15 hectares. A rich terroir that varies between rolled pebbles on the edge of the pond and limestone cliffs on the Mediterranean coast.
70% of the vines are trained in the goblet style, the others on wires, in single Guyot or Cordon de Royat. Yields are relatively low: around 20hl/ha.
The grape varieties planted are Carignan noir and blanc, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache noir and gris, Macabeu, Muscat petits grains and Alexandria
Marc Castan, born in Narbonne, spent his entire childhood in the Corbières maritimes between the passion for the sea and the land.
Once he had his baccalaureate, he decided to pursue training in viticulture and in 2003 he took over his grandfather's vineyard.
A few years in a cooperative and a turning point later, he embarked on the greatest of adventures; that's how, in 2009, he vinified his first vintages...
We are committed to working "cleanly" and offering the most natural wines possible.
We work the soil gently to revitalize it and encourage biodiversity. To achieve this, we are gradually replacing the tractor with a horse and weeding by hand when the season no longer allows us to let our cows graze.
We also plant hedges of trees along the edges of the vineyards and we ensure the maintenance and cleaning of the plots by hand (repair of old stone walls, maintenance of trees and paths, etc.)
Our treatments are made exclusively with sulfur, green clay and decoctions of plants such as chamomile, nettle, dandelion, lavender or rosemary.
To preserve natural acidity and avoid high alcohol levels, we begin the harvest in mid-August. It is done by hand and only in the morning to avoid exposing the grapes to the heat. Always striving to bring healthy, high-quality grapes into the cellar, we use only small crates.
No rose wines at the moment.
