I moved to Lower Normandy to produce perries, ciders and Calvados AOP on the La Prémoudière farm, in 61330 Saint-Denis-de-Villenette, in the Orne, France.

The Treyvaux Cider House is now closed .

The distribution of remaining Swiss ciders, as well as the new Normandy production, is now handled in Switzerland by Nausikraft in Lausanne. They are also present in certain markets thanks to a unique collaboration with Piacere Vulcanico, a Sicilian company dedicated to the organic production of extra virgin olive oil from centuries-old olive trees, as well as the creation of sweet and savory preserves made from heritage fruits and wild plants. Swiss ciders from vintages up to 2023 are also available at the farm in Normandy, including for export.

The Red Admiral butterfly is the mascot of the Cidrerie du Vulcain cider house . The insect depicted at the top of the label (artwork by Gisèle Rime, farm sign by Etsuko Magnin) is a faithful companion during the autumn harvest, flitting about among the fallen fruit. Its population here, at this time of year, is augmented by migrants from Northern Europe.

The Cidrerie du Vulcain started its processing activities in Fribourg , Switzerland , in 2006 (20 years next year!!!!), by harvesting the fruits from the local orchard, namely apples, pears and quinces of old varieties, grown on high stems and untreated.

The company's flagship products are sparkling cider, partially fermented using the " guillage " technique of Clairette de Die, as well as corked cider from Normandy and Brittany. The ciders are produced in different vintages from year to year, depending on the available grape varieties. These ciders are always " pure juice ," fermented with their wild yeasts and coarsely filtered.

We also produce pasteurized apple and pear juice, co-fermented elderflower juice, red berries, various brandies, and, since 2022, our first Calvados AOP. At the farm, we also have honey from our own hives and some jams.

We welcome you today to La Prémoudière, where you can purchase all our products, visit our orchards, and taste our produce. We welcome friends, families, company outings, and other groups. Five cottages can accommodate up to 15 people.
