Château Massereau

A 15th century castle, an estate crossed by a river, a family story. Massereau has all of the Bordeaux legend, and yet its history is still recent! Purchased in 2000 by the Chaigneau family, the 10 hectares of cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, petit verdot and the precious “red tail merlot” nonetheless give high-quality juices, with a finesse and a tradition that compels. the respect. Jean-François and his brother Philippe are wine growers, in the sense that extreme care is given to the work of the vines: reading the terroirs, vinification respecting the peculiarities, respect for plants and fruit. No chemistry in the vineyard, of course. We debudge, sprout, leaf a little, leaving only 6 to 8 bunches on the reds, 4 to 5 on the Barsac. Harvest in crates, expert sorting.
