Developed, little bit wild nose Ripe cherry, raspberry, briar, black pepper, sweet spices, iron, leather and animalistic notes Dry, balanced palate, moderate tannins, light body and medium acidity The vineyards for Matassa Rouge are located on terraces consisting of marl. The vines are very old and in the countryside Carignan, Grey Carignan and White Carignan are found mixed together. They are cultivated organically and biodynamically and their yield is very low, about 15 hectolitres per hectare. They are harvested manually so that the grapes are selected in the field and arrive intact in the winery and without breaking berries. Matassa Rouge ferments and undergoes a very short maceration with the skins for only 4 to 8 days. It ferments with native yeasts, and once fermented the wine is aged for 16 to 20 months in 500 litredemi-muids - large barrels. It is bottled without filtering or clarifying.

As you can see it came empty. Pretty disappointed in how quickly I threw it down.
