At that time, the farm was largely a mixed crop operation. Over 15 hectares were planted with wheat, tobacco, and pasture for livestock, with only 53 ares planted with vines. Gradually, the farm specialized in viticulture, allowing the vineyard area to grow relative to the other crops until 1970. Subsequently, Charles Brand established the Domaine's reputation by producing dry, gastronomic wines that were highly regarded by the people of Strasbourg. In 2001, he shifted the farming methods, embarking on a three-year conversion period and obtaining organic certification for his vineyard. When Philippe joined his father in 2006, their business, which they renamed Domaine Brand et Fils, received a new impetus. In 2015, a new direction was taken: Philippe, wanting to further their commitment, joined the Biodynamic Agriculture program, certified by the Demeter organization. He is taking this opportunity to expand the range of Natural Wines.
