Le Facteur Sur Le Vélo - Fabien Brutout
After a university course in the field of wine and obtaining a license in 2007, Fabien Brutout worked for 2 years as an apprenticeship with Sébastien Brunet in Vouvray. He joined Mathieu Cosme at the end of 2008 and joined the estate full time.
It was in 2013, following a discussion / tasting with Belgian friends, that the idea of creating a range of wines was born. Le Facteur was born and Fabien has carte blanche when it comes to winemaking.
The Facteur cuvées, produced by Fabien, are blended wines from several plots belonging to them. They are easy to drink in their youth but can also be kept for a few years in the cellar. “Wines of friends”, one tour of which calls for another and which will remind moviegoers of the famous factor of Jacques Tati in “Jour de Fête”
In 2018, Fabien Brutout succeeded in settling in Noizay by taking over 4 hectares of vines in A.O.C. Vouvray and VSIG
In the meantime, he is planting 2 hectares of vines north of Indre-et-Loire, in the hamlet of Encloître (Beaumont-la-Ronce). vineyard in vin de france lost in the long valley, the only vines north of indre and loire, geographically close to the vineyards of the Sarthe.
On these family lands with limestone subsoils, which knew the vine before phyloxera, Chenin is the majority but also rubs shoulders with Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pineau d'Aunis and Gamay. Enough to fuel Fabien's creativity in his winemaking for years to come.
The vineyard and the business of the factor are certified AB by écocert. Indigenous yeasts, no inputs, only controlled and minimal doses of so2 are accepted in wines.
The type of size is short, called a fan goblet. Organic treatments are done with Bordeaux mixture and sulfur.
The soil is worked mechanically with small Loiseau straddles.
