Dimitri, passionate about wine and vineyards, completed a BTS (Advanced Vocational Diploma) in Viticulture and Oenology in Beaune before working as a vineyard manager in several vineyards, from Berry to New Zealand. Marion, a nurse, later left her job to train in horse-drawn transport with Jean-Louis Cannelle and bring animal power to La Grange 476.
Today, we work on just under 4 hectares of vines, which we converted to organic farming from day one. Located in the Côtes du Jura and Château-Chalon appellations, we cultivate Savagnin and Chardonnay for our white wines and Poulsard and Pinot Noir for our reds. The estate's conversion to organic and biodynamic farming was a logical and ecological process, designed to best support our vines, grapes, and juice, allowing them to express their finest qualities. Working the soil with horses was therefore a natural choice, respecting the soil and the life it contains, and showcasing the Comtois, the Jura draft horse breed. Our horses, Soferino and Khir, bring a sensitive approach to our plots: a connection between animal, human, and land.
The respect we show to our vines was paramount, and it was essential to extend that same respect to our wines, meaning they should be as natural as possible, allowing them time and tranquility. We work with each plot individually to allow the juices to express the unique micro-terroirs of the Jura region as fully as possible. Aging periods are extended to allow the wines to develop their balance and purity.
We strive to make wines that are good for both body and mind. Cheers!
