He headed to the BTS (Advanced Vocational Diploma) in Viticulture and Oenology in St-Jean d'Arrières (69). Around the same time, he discovered the writings of Jules Chauvet (father of "natural" oenology), which resonated with him and ultimately convinced him that other paths were possible. With his pilgrim's staff in hand, he set off to meet Jean Claude Lapalu, Michel Guignier, Valentin Morel (Jura), and Isabelle and Bruno Perraud (Vauxrenard). Fresh out of his BTS program, Thibault Ducroux went to work for Julien Sunier, where he learned about soil and vine cultivation, all organic, and then how to make "natural" wines. Simultaneously, Thibault Ducroux purchased 1.25 hectares in the Beaujolais appellation, which he cultivates organically (vines in conversion). His first wine, "En roue Libre," was produced in the 2019 vintage. From 2020, 5 hectares under lease are worked in the Morgon and Fleurie appellations.
