"La Colline des Prélats". The Grand Cru Praelatenberg is located in Kintzheim (67). It has two exposures: East, South-East as well as a steep and regular slope. It is the work of the vineyard by the Benedictine monks of Ebersmunster, since the 8th century, which gave the name to this hillside of Praelatenberg: “The hill of the Prelates”. The Grand Cru Praelatenberg Pinot Gris comes from a vineyard at the summit of the Grand Cru. The sandy, stony soil and its southeastern exposure promote low yields and very rapid ripening. The Gneiss subsoil gives the wine a great freshness underlined by an intense salinity and a straight acidity. Hand-harvested. Long pressing of 8 hours on whole grapes. Aging is carried out for ⅓ in barrels of two wines and ⅔ in stainless steel vats for 12 months. Alc. 13& Vol.
