The estate has been officially certified organic since 2002 and biodynamic by Demeter since 2018, and has been certified as a natural winemaking method since the creation of the Natural Wine Defense Syndicate. Bruno, who represents the 6th generation of winemakers in his family, was joined in 1989 by Isabelle.
In 1999, Bruno suffered severe poisoning from an insecticide, and that's when they both decided to stop using all synthetic chemicals in the vineyards. The transition to organic farming was abrupt but vital. Bruno relearned his craft. He even says he's changed it entirely. Plowing, mowing, hoeing, and treatments with herbal teas. Eco-grazing has been in place for a year now with a flock of sheep. They listen, they feel, they act according to the needs of the vines. Life is slowly returning to their plots. They feel good here… There are flowers of every color, aromatic herbs, it smells wonderful, the soil has become loose and welcoming.
Yields are rather low, but the grapes are beautiful. We make the wines we love. Of course, the work is harder. We spend more time on it. But it's a choice we both make. Hand-harvested, whole-cluster maceration in vats, indigenous yeasts, no added sulfur. Slow pressing. Aged in vats. Bottled unfiltered. We focus on finesse, length, and elegance, not extraction.
No orange wines at the moment.
