Marcel Lapierre wasn't just a winemaker from Beaujolais, he was one of the founding fathers of modern natural wine. Together with the chemist Jules Chauvet, he brought Gamay in Beaujolais back to its roots: hand harvesting, whole clusters, minimal sulfur or none at all. What's called "vin nature" today largely grew out of his cellar.
On August 16th we're setting up a long table at the wine bar to taste wines from Lapierre. Five wines plus one surprise, each with its own story and character, paired with food inspired by Lyonnais cuisine.
This is a tasting for anyone who wants to understand where the whole natural wine movement came from - and just drink really good Beaujolais among like-minded people.
