Francois Lurton produce vini in Cile dal 1992 e nel 2000 insieme al fratello Jacques, ha fondato Hachienda Araucano situata a Lolol nella valle di Colchagua. Oggi l'azienda conta su 28 ettari e Lolol, un tempo considerata troppo remota, è oggi fra le zone più ricercate in Chile per chi vuole produrre vini di qualità. La zona gode di eccezionali condizioni climatiche. Le precipitazioni sono per lo più limitate al periodo invernale, mentre durante tutto il ciclo vegetativo della vite si hanno giornate calde, ma mai estreme e notti fresche. Condizioni ideali che hanno spinto a scegliere di coltivare le vigne in agricoltura bio-dinamica, certificata Demeter.
