Un assemblage peu commun pour un vin hors du commun! Deux cépages indigènes de l'île de Céphalonie vinifiés dans une parfaite harmonie .. Mavrodaphne 85% - Vostylidis 15%

A red wine from Kechrionas of Palliki at Kefalonia. The vines that were found there are 40years old with an extremely low yield. It was fermented in oak barrels for 12 months with indigenous yeasts and malolactic fermentation also occurred. The wine was bottled unfiltered and it doesn’t contain any additional sulfur. Two unique kefalonian varieties Vostylidi and Mavrodafni married together to bring in life a unique terroir wine. Intense ruby color with complex aromas of plum, black berries, raisins, chocolate, smoke, leather and earthy notes. Medium body and round tannins with refreshing acidity and long aftertaste. I paired it with a plate of wild mushrooms and beetroots.

Organic wine, no flitration, no added SO2 during bottling from own-rooted 40 years old bush vines of Mavrodaphne and Vostilidi. Yields are tiny close to 25 hl/ha. Exceptional expression for this terroir-driven wine. Nose starts quite gamey with masses of black cherries and plums along dark chocolate and savoury notes.
