"Kondo Vineyard" is a small town in Sorachi, Hokkaido. The field was opened for the first time in 2007, and 2021 marks the 15th season. In 2017, I established the long-awaited winery "Kurisawa Wines" with Mr. and Mrs. Nakazawa of Nakazawa Vineyard, who are my colleagues and seniors for 20 years. "kondo vineyard" has two contrasting farms. The “Tapu Kopu Farm” in Tafu, Mikasa City, which was first opened in 2007, and the “Moseushi Farm” in Moyoyu, Kurisawa-cho, Iwamizawa City, which was opened in 2011. Both names are derived from the Ainu language of the area, with Tap Kop meaning "rising hill" and Moseusi meaning "where there are many nettles." The two vineyards are managed by the older brother Ryosuke and the younger brother Takumi, respectively, and are collectively called the "kondo vineyard" for convenience. At kondo vineyard, we basically do not use synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or herbicides. Because if you put yourself in Grape's shoes, it's easy to imagine that it wouldn't be very comfortable to have your body sprinkled with an unknown drug. One of the most important things in making wine is what you think and do in the vineyard. The raw material of wine is 100% grape fruit itself. I think that the character and background of the wine is also the character and background of the people who grow the raw materials.
