Azienda Agricola Daniele Portinari
The Daniele Portinari farm is located on the hills of Alonte, in the southern hills of the Berici hills, in the province of Vicenza. The territory is of calcareous-clayey origin and there are white rocks of marine origin. The soil has a red color and is very suitable for the cultivation of red berried grapes but also for the highly sapid white grape varieties. On the farm we grow different varieties of red and white berries, such as merlot, cabernet sauvignon, pinot bianco, friulano (or bianco tai) and garganega, planted in the 80s, or like tai rosso, the first variety cultivated by Daniele. The vineyard area of the farm is 5 hectares.
We believe that a good wine is the result of a production chain that is as healthy as possible from the vineyard to the cellar so we have embraced the philosophy of the natural wine. We operate organic farming, we have abandoned any synthetic compound. We only use copper and sulfur, trying to decrease the doses every year through new experiments. The harvest is done strictly by hand with the help of crates.
Even in the cellar we respect our philosophy using the knowledge accumulated over the years. We do not use selected yeasts to make wine, we do not make corrections, filtrations or modifications of any kind. We therefore try to enhance the uniqueness of our products.
We are not certified Organic but we are producer partners of the Vinnatur association. A non-profit association made up of 170 wineries that, like ours, act in full respect of the territory, the vine and natural cycles, limiting the use of invasive and toxic chemical and technological agents in general, first of all in experiment vineyard and then in the cellar. In order to become a member you must submit your wines to specific analyzes to find traces of pesticides or chemical treatments.
