La Ferme des Magesses practices diversified, peasant, family-oriented, and creative organic farming. After a career in the audiovisual sector, I took over the family land in 2020. My parents were organic market gardeners and arboriculturists, so I grew up on the farm, and working with respect for living things is part of our DNA. We had to start by planting a first plot: goblet-trained vines with Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Grenache Blanc, and Carignan Blanc grape varieties. Then I rented or bought other plots (Syrah, Carignan N, Merlot) with top-grafting projects. I also did a bit of trading between 2019 and 2023.
I practice on all vintages: manual harvest, indigenous yeasts (with starter), without sulfites or targeted sulfiting and I use an old vertical hydraulic press. The estate currently comprises 14ha including 3ha of vines, 3ha of orchards, 8ha of rotating cereals and 1000m2 of strawberries and rhubarb.
I also produce olive oil , sunflower oil , vine peach nectar , apple juice , grape juice , spelt , almonds and strawberries . La Ferme des Magesses is located in Sanilhac in the Gard near the Gardon Gorges Reserve, which is a magical and wild place.
The Gardon brings its freshness , especially at night, which is found in my wines. In a region that is not necessarily known for this, it is rather a challenge, you have to know how to dare less maturity and less maceration. Wines that are light in alcohol, lively, fruity, with depth, which can be kept and which often benefit from being opened beforehand. Attention drinkers!
