After 16 years in another professional life, I wanted to reconnect with my roots and the cultivation of this magical vine: the grapevine. In 2018, I officially took over "this small vineyard for great pleasure." It's a 1.5-hectare "garden" vineyard where several grape varieties flourish: classic, indigenous, and forgotten. It's situated on a southwest-facing schist slope where coal is naturally present in places. This unique terroir is a reminder that the vine and wine are also linked to the 150 years of coal mining and industrial activity in the Decazeville basin. The vines are cultivated with great care, respecting the vines, the soil, and biodiversity. Manual and on-the-ground work is favored, and tractor use is kept to a minimum. The grapes are harvested by hand, in small crates. The wines are also made in a traditional way with this desire "to let the grapes express themselves" (using only low doses of sulfites), ...no filtration, generally no aging: ...the fruit...on its terroir (which allows us to offer some "never tasted before!" cuvées with terroir/grape variety pairs that protect us from classicism).
