Terre Du Gaugalin - Maxime Aerts & Angela Weidner
The Terres du Gaugalin are located in the foothills of the Rhône valley. The plots of vines planted in terraces and surrounded by many species of trees have a bird's eye view of the Dentelles de Montmirail and the northwest face of Mont-Ventoux.
This little corner of paradise deserves our full attention. The vines are in organic conversion and we apply all our energy to cultivate these lands with respect for the living. From agronomic experimentation to biodynamic applications, our objective is to find the balance of the soil according to the needs of the vine.
Hence the word GAUGALIN ... It is for our Provençal roots that we chose it. Meaning COQUELICOT in the language of Pagnol, it is an indicator of healthy lands. These lands are our common thread as artisans winemakers respectful of life and we want more than anything to see the plots and hedges cover with red!
We have protected our grapes in a natural and organic process.
The harvest was carried out manually in small cases and without transport. We vinified outdoors near the vines, with destemming by hand and crushing with feet.
Fermentation, on the other hand, was done with indigenous yeasts, without any oenological aid or the addition of sulfur. It’s a natural wine!
After fermentation, the wine was aged in stainless steel tanks and in an old oak barrel for 6 months. No sulfur was added to the bottling.
