Domaine Gardiés

Present for 8 generations in the Cirque de Vingrau, the Gardiés family has developed viticulture by planting white, gray and black Grenaches, as well as a few Carignan vines. A heritage present to this day.

The vineyard covers 35 hectares of vines including 5 hectares of olive trees. Clay-limestone soil and black schist. Small yields 20-30hl / ha, organic viticulture for almost 20 years and manual harvests are favored. Importance is given to the grape varieties of the region: Syrah, Grenache noir, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Grenache blanc and gris, Macabeu, Roussanne, Muscat d'Alexandrie as well as Tourbat.

Jean and Victor, father and son, produce the wines they love: while the region claims 20% of white production, at the Gardies estate they vinify up to 45% white. Victor has already had 10 vintages in the cellar.

" I already have enough of everything ," he said. Native yeasts, 0 inputs, no stirring, concrete and old demi-muids for the reds and direct pressing and fermentation on lees for the whites, these are Victor's Credos.
