Marie Thibault's estate is located on the Azay le Rideau appellation area, on a 3.5-hectare hillside plot. Marie Thibault has been a winemaker since 2002 as an employee with François Chidaine and since 2004 as a solo worker. In 2010, she took over these 50 year old vines in very good condition which she immediately cultivated in organic farming. This colluvial soil on white clay with flint and facing south for 2.5 ha makes it very early. Rainfall is low compared to the average for the area. The very windy and very dry hillside offers a panoramic view of the Loire and the Indre. The varietals planted are typical of the area with Chenin, Côt Gamay, Sauvignon and Grolleau, varietal very well adapted to this region, because it is its favorite terroir (the oldest selections of this vine were found in 1810 at Cinq mars la Pile, 5 km from the Marie Thibault vineyard).
