For Jean-Marie, being a winemaker was natural. His parents were grape producers in a cooperative in Jura and Jean-Marie started walking in the vineyard. But « natural » does not mean « easy ». Producing grapes was just a part of his dream. After several experiences in France and Canada in order to learn how to manage a domain and to make wine, he met Clarisse. Agronomist, she was born next to Paris but creating her business in agriculture was her dream. After ten years working, acquiring different skills, it was time to begin the adventure with Jean-Marie and create their project.
We had the opportunity to take over 3 hectares in Jura in 2022, then 2 more hectares in 2023, planted in Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard, Pinot noir and Trousseau. We practice organic farming with biodynamic influences and phytotherapy methods. The excellence of work in the vineyard is mandatory to harvest the healthy grape and be able to create wine in the cellar with the fewest manipulations. We aim to produce authentic and clean wine: after being harvested manually, the grapes ferments with natural yeasts, no additions are accepted except very low level of sulfur in few of our wines. After aging in oak barrels, wine are gently bottled without filtration. We, Jean-Marie and Clarisse, are young, full of ideas and we aim to carry on improving our practices, step by step: developing cover crop, using more fermented extracts and decoctions, planting hedges for more biodiversity etc.
