For 15 years François Grinand divides his time between the vineyard and his first job: He is also a pianist. Its 3 hectares of vines are planted on steep slopes perched above the Rhône a few kilometers from Léman. It begins with whites from marly soils. In his vineyards you can only access on foot and François works hard with the most natural methods: no pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers or other chemical means. In 2007 despite everything, weakened after a few vintages undermined by complicated weather, he ran out of steam in the face of difficult conditions and left for a while to devote himself entirely to his profession as a pianist. These are two Belgian amateurs keen on natural wines and particularly appreciating his wines who very quickly come to try to convince him to relaunch production. After several visits and a few hits, Le Domaine du Perron comes back to life, and François Grinand joins forces with his two accomplices and supporters. Together they take over 2.5 hectares of its sloping land with Gamay, Pinot Noir, Altesse de Montagnieu, Roussette, Chardonnay and Mondeuse, as well as a little trading in parallel. The first vintage of this new association was born in 2009 with the same work in the vines and vinification using native yeasts, without chaptalization, enzymes, fining, filtration, and without any other means of chemistry or oenological "technology".
