Il Roccolo di Monticelli is a small company located in the eastern province of Verona, in the municipality of Lavagno, born from the desire to recover an old vineyard owned by the family to produce a genuine wine respecting the environment and the territory in which we live.

The land is located on the limestone hills of the Mezzane valley, located between Verona and Soave, within a small "clos". The surface is in fact surrounded by a high stone wall that delimits the property, once belonging to the count who resided in the villa at the bottom of the valley. Here old vineyards, dating back to the 1960s, flank a small area of centenary olive trees.

Admiration for our territory leads us to operate with full respect for the soil and biodiversity to obtain genuine wines completely linked to the territory. The choice to follow organic agriculture integrated with biodynamic practices and to adopt working methods in the cellar which involve the least possible number of invasive interventions and the absence of additives and adjuvants and the exclusive use of spontaneous fermentations, allow us to to obtain very healthy and lively wines, which are able to express all that is best our territory has to give.

Our bottles of wine know how to tell a story, different every year, of what the season was, of the sun and the rains, of the people who worked there.
This working method requires great awareness of the rhythms of nature and shows its extraordinary charm, therefore giving great importance to the man - territory - wine connection.

Our agriculture is diversified because we do not focus on the vineyard ecosystem, but we believe that it is important, indeed fundamental, to recreate around it, and within it, greater complexity in terms of biodiversity. For this reason, in our vineyard, in addition to having spontaneous plants, there are fruit trees, aromatic herbs, hives with numerous bees, goats and sheep that help us in managing the greenery, olive trees and tall trees. For us, biodiversity is a value to be protected and stimulated because it is a source of inexhaustible wealth for all of us.
