Agricolavinica was born in 2007 from an idea of sharing ideals, enhancement of a territory and respect for nature of the owner and producer Rodolfo Gianserra and Giuseppe Tudino, administrator of the company.
The intent was to develop an eco-sustainable organic agriculture project in an area of high Molise hills; uncultivated and abandoned lands for decades, with an ancient and documented centuries-old wine vocation, are once again giving their fruits.
Agricolavinica rises on the hills of Ripalimosani, in Molise at about 650 meters high. Together with the vines, the company cultivates olive groves, Senatore Cappelli wheat, spelled, fruit and vegetables for a total area of 220 hectares. Over the last 10 years, despite the 100 hectares of woods already present on the farm, we have still improved the CO2 reserve by continuing to plant woods, orchards and hazelnut groves for a further 20 hectares, always with eco-sustainable techniques.
Agriculture is completely organic without any irrigation system. We do not use animals to work in the fields but only tractors and the grapes are harvested manually in small boxes.
We are a farm and not a commercial entity, so we do not buy grapes or other products which we then process. We limit ourselves to harvesting, transforming and selling only and exclusively our grapes and other products of our land.
The vineyards extend over an area of about 30 hectares at an altitude ranging from 550 to 750 meters above sea level, are covered with grass and made with wooden poles. The vines are grown with low-density Guyot systems (3400 plants / ha) with a distance between the rows of about 3 meters.
About 11 hectares undoubtedly represent the most consistent variety of our only regional indigenous grape: La Tintilia del Molise. In fact, the Tintilia of our vineyards is always declined in purity with different vinification methods. Tintilia Rosso and Riserva, Tintilia Beat with semi-carbonic maceration of the grapes and Tintilia Rosato.
Other red grape varieties are Merlot, Pinot Nero, Aglianico. With the white berried grapes we were able to choose, not having an indigenous white in Molise, based on our climate, soil, exposure and altitude, so our choice fell on both Italic and Burgundy Sauvignon Blanc. Another white typical of cold climates is Riesling, both Italic and Renano, of which we are among the very few producers in central southern Italy. For our sweet passito line we have chosen Moscato, a clone of the area called moscatello di Montagano, another village located not far from our vineyards. On the highest hill (700 meters) we cultivate Trebbiano, a typical vine of our Abruzzo neighbors that we vinify as “orange wine”. We also have a small amount of Garganega, another Nordic grape that we use with Trebbiano.
In the cellar it is forbidden to enter sophisticated procedures and the introduction of external agents that can modify the characteristics of the wine. A wine is the product of the "terroir" or rather of that set of geological, physical and climatic characteristics of the territory in which a vine grows. Wine is mainly made in the vineyard.
Fermentation starts thanks to the indigenous yeasts present on the grape skin and without temperature control in steel tanks. We do not use products for the extraction of aromas or to clarify, and to maintain all the characteristics that the grapes have given us in the wine we do not perform any filtration. Aware that by working in this way the wines will be the pure expression of our uncontaminated territory.
We use small quantities of sulphites that fall abundantly in the VinNatur specification to which we have been part for several years, simply to guarantee longevity to our wines.
