Kolagis ancestral winery, an establishment steeped in a rich heritage of winemaking tradition dating back to 1887, specializes in the sublime art of natural winemaking. Nestled amidst the rolling hills of the picturesque village of Kolagi, within the esteemed Gurjaani micro-zone of the Kakheti region of Georgia, our wines are a true embodiment of the terroir. Each bottle is a labor of love, handcrafted with the utmost care and precision using methods passed down through generations. Made from the finest estate grown organic grapes, fermented with wild yeast in the traditional Georgian clay vessel, Qvevri. We take great pride in our unwavering commitment to natural winemaking, abstaining from the use of any added sulfites, oenological additives or processing aids, allowing the true essence of the grape to shine through. Unfiltered and unfined, our wine may contain some sediment, a testament to its natural authenticity. We have 4 small vineyards which amount to about 1.5 hectares of land in total. We are members of the Natural Wine Association of Georgia, as such we use only organic treatments allowed by the NWA. Other than that we perform every single operation manually. We do not have any organic/bio or biodynamic certification, because we simply don’t need it. We get inspected every year by the NWA and we follow very strict work ethics in our winery. We believe if something can be done manually that is the way to go.
