Together with our children Cosimo Leone, Greta Zoe and Lapo Falco, we live every day in this land, we live the work with love and passion together with many friends and people who over the years have passed, pass and will pass from here.
The I.C.E.A organic certification of our farm perfectly marries the concept of natural agriculture, 100% sustainable and at 360 degrees! Our products are born from the encounter between ancient traditions and innovative techniques.
The family-run farm extends to an average height of 350 meters above sea level. for an area of about 25 h, of which 4.5 h are home to the vineyards, 2 h are olive groves, 2 h for gardens, fruits, medicinal plants, and the rest is used as pasture for poultry, donkeys and pigs .
The territory protected by the woods and facing south / east, the richness of biodiversity and the famous marl soils, organic agriculture lived with deep feeling and the vocation of the territory in which ancient traditions still live, are the factors that, combined with experience of yesterday and today's science, create the perfect conditions to obtain grapes of excellent quality and valuable characteristics.
In addition to the production of organic wine, we are dedicated to the production of oil and honey and to the collection of flowers and medicinal plants. To guarantee products with adequate prices, we seek a direct relationship with consumers and support the zero km sales chain.
The territory:
The company embraces the Montiani hill surrounded and protected by greenery and characterized by a Mediterranean microclimate due to a current of sea air that has made the typical essences of the Tuscan coastal areas grow there. Vineyards and olive groves alternate, pastures with shrubs and woods, all designed by terraces with dry stone walls. The vineyards are three, located in as many areas of the estate, each with its own specific characteristics, with its own terroir. In total we have about 4.5 hectares, of which about two hectares are from 1973 with the typical Chianti Classico vines, another two hectares planted on terraces in 2004 with a variety of Sangiovese clones chosen together with Prof. Bandinelli of the University of Agraria di Firenze, the smallest of the vineyards about 0.5 hectares is Merlot. Our three vineyards, “Terra Bianca”, “Merendero” and “Poggio” allow us to select the best grapes for the vinification of Felix and “the terraces of the merendero”.
The new and the old cellar:
The new rooms intended for fermentation cellar were obtained from what were the storage of agricultural machinery. The cellar is divided into several rooms in which the various processes for winemaking alternate. The aging cellar has returned to being the one where in the past the wines were refined in large barrels, the temperature and humidity are perfectly maintained inside by the natural protection of the stone. These characteristics make this place ideal for hosting barrels and barriques for the aging of our wines.
