Cian Cianin was born in 2018 from a very strong and romantically naive inspiration of the two owners of the company Margherita Barberotti and Valentina Melani. The name "Cian Cianin" literally means both slowly and little plain in Ligurian dialect and represents a perfect summary of our company philosophy. The very nature of our territory invites us to slow agronomic practices, manual work, recovery of abandoned land and teaches us patience and perseverance. The project was born in Riomaggiore, within the 5 Terre National Park, where we own small family lands and look after Bosco, Albarola, Vermentino and native red grape vines. The CONTATTO and VELIA wines are born in these lands. Currently the production part is around 4500m2 divided into 6 different areas. We started with just 100m2 with the aim of reaching 1 hectare. In 2022 we took over management of a vineyard with cellar in the hilly area of La Spezia, in the Colli di Luni DOC, thus adding another 4000m2 of a polyclonal selection of Vermentino to the company surface area. Here AUT AUT is born, our pure Vermentino. Always convinced that an ethical approach to the territory is the only way to arrive at a sincere product that can tell the story of its place of origin, we decided from the beginning to practice organic farming, and then after a year to move on to the biodynamic one. Manual soil tillage, green manure, grassing, application of biodynamic preparations and production of earthworm humus are the main practices we use. In the vineyard we only use copper and sulfur with non-systemic products, in addition to these, if necessary we use bitter orange essential oil, propolis, zeolite and bacteria antagonistic to the main pathogens. In the cellar, after the manual harvest, our grapes are processed simply: manual destemming on small grates or soft pressing with the feet. We do not use selected yeasts, we do not control the temperature, we do not filter or clarify. If necessary, add a small amount of sulphur.

Cian Cianin nasce nel 2018 da un'ispirazione fortissima e romanticamente ingenua delle due titolari dell’azienda Margherita Barberotti e Valentina Melani.
Il nome “Cian Cianin” vuole letteralmente dire sia pian piano, sia piccola piana in dialetto ligure e rappresenta un perfetto riassunto della nostra filosofia aziendale.
La natura stessa del nostro territorio, ci invita a pratiche agronomiche lente, lavorazioni manuali, recupero di terreni abbandonati e ci insegna la pazienza e perseveranza.

Il progetto nasce a Riomaggiore, all’interno del Parco Nazionale delle 5 terre, dove possediamo dei piccoli terreni di famiglia e curiamo vigne di Bosco, Albarola, Vermentino e vitigni autoctoni a bacca rossa.
In questi terreni nascono i vini CONTATTO e VELIA.
Attualmente la parte produttiva si aggira intorno ai 4500m2 divisa in 6 zonali differenti. Siamo partite da soli 100m2 con l’obbiettivo di raggiungere 1 ettaro.

Nel 2022 abbiamo preso in gestione un vigneto con cantina in zona collinare di La Spezia, nella DOC Colli di Luni aggiungendo così alla superficie aziendale altri 4000m2 di una selezione policlonale di Vermentino.
Qui nasce AUT AUT il nostro Vermentino in purezza.

Convinte da sempre che un approccio etico al territorio sia l'unica strada per arrivare ad un prodotto sincero e che sappia raccontare il luogo di provenienza, decidiamo sin dall’inizio di  praticare un'agricoltura di tipo biologico, per poi passare dopo un anno a quello di tipo biodinamico.
Lavorazioni del terreno di tipo manuale, sovescio, inerbimento, applicazione di preparati biodinamici e produzione di humus di lombrico sono le principali pratiche a cui ricorriamo.
In vigna utilizziamo solo rame e zolfo con prodotti non sistemici, in aggiunta a questi all’occorrenza utilizziamo olio essenziale di arancio amaro, propoli, zeolite e batteri antagonisti dei principali patogeni.

In cantina, dopo la raccolta manuale, le nostre uve vengono lavorate semplicemente: diraspamento manuale su piccole grate o pressatura soffice con i piedi.
Non utilizziamo lieviti selezionati, non controlliamo la temperatura, non filtriamo né chiarifichiamo.
All’occorrenza piccola aggiunta di solforosa.
