A 10 acre organic vineyard in Kent which will be biodynamic certified from Summer 2023. We limit inputs, and often opt for manual interventions instead of using machinery. We use biological inputs and no chemicals, including the use of cover crops and micronutrients based on sap analysis. Our aim is to create healthy soils, that support a flourishing ecosystem, with fantastic grapes produced to reflect each growing season. We classify ourselves as using regenerative agricultural principles as well, to build a vineyard that is in harmony with its environment and has a positive impact on our planet. In the winery, we make small batch natural wines made from our own grapes only, crafted to show off the best of that particular vintage with minimal additions and interventions (grapes only, with the occasional dash of sulphur if needed). Wild ferments, natural temperature control and gravity used. That means our wines will be different year on year, and some styles may only appear intermittently as we follow what nature gives us. The wine is currently made at Offbeat Wines in Wiltshire, but the Ham Street winery is on its way with its off grid solar power now installed alongside vermicompost toilets and hand basket press soon to arrive for the 2023 vintage. The vineyard was founded by a young husband and wife team alongside their day jobs - Lucie and Jules both share a passion for wine, and were inspired by the potential for England to farm positively and produce fantastic natural wines.
