We're Lisa & José , the founders of "Ein Weingut namens Dope."
After busy careers in the event industry in Cologne and Frankfurt a.M:, we found love in the yards and discovered our passion for winemaking . Our mission is to diversify the wine industry and offering clean , fresh and honest naturals .
Besides wine, we love people ,culture ,community and a propper party : Be our guest any time .
Since 2022 , we've been cultivating one hectare of family vineyards in Rheinhessen. With the help of family and friends, we tend to the vines by hand , embracing organic and conscious farming practices for mama nature , community and a better future .
Every aspect of our vineyard work , from pruning and budding to trimming and harvesting , is meticulously handcrafted .
We refrain from using heavy machinery to preserve the delicate balance of life in our shell limestone terroir. Trees, herbs, mushrooms, and wildlife coexist harmoniously amidst our vines. Rather than disturbing the soil, we opt for mulching with straw, apply compost teas, and cultivate supportive plants following permaculture principles. Pest control is approached with vigilance, using minimal amounts of whey, copper, or sulfur when necessary, all in accordance with our organic agriculture certification.
Our winemaking process is gentle and hands-off, with slow pressing using a historical corb press and spontaneous fermentation. We intervene minimally in the cellar, only adjusting maceration time, racking, and employing minimal sulfites if needed. Our wines are aged in either steel or barriques and bottled in self-recycled bottles.
We generally re- and upcycle, repurpose and refurbish equipment throughout our home, cellar, and vineyard following a wholsome sustainable approach.
