The first vine seedlings were planted in the fields of the villages of Bliskowice and Popow in the Annopol municipality in the spring of 2009. The plots are located on a lofty escarpment of the Vistula river valley, offering a picturesque view of the meandering river. This is a land of limestone hills: the Małopolski Przełom Wisły. The southwestern exposure provides optimal sunlight. The slope drains the frosty spring air. The limestone subsoil maintains the right level of moisture in the soil, and the Great River below is like an air conditioner: in winter it relieves frost and in summer it dissipates hail storms. The ambition of the Bliskowice House is to produce limited quantities of wine from the best, carefully selected fruit. The selection of varieties provides the plants with vegetative comfort devoid of winter thermal stress and preventive sprays limited to the necessary minimum. Quality at the expense of quantity, the reduction or even elimination of chemical stimulants and "enhancers" in the production process, and the construction of an individual wine style and character - this is DB's credo. We address our wines to consumers looking for an alternative to stylized, repetitive and laboratory-modeled productions from regions considered traditionally winemaking. Soil: chalk-limestone with natural drainage, marl-less in the lower parts. Varieties: Regent, Cabernet Cortis, Cabernet Cantor, Rondo, Pinot Noir for red wines and Johanniter, Hibernal, Riesling, Seyval Blanc, Chardonnay for white wines.
