La del Terreno is the name given by the countrymen of Bullas to the local variety Monastrell. It is a small project, self-financed and promoted by Julia Casado (Agricultural Engineer, Lda. in Oenology). In 2016, Julia moved to the Bullas-Cehegín area (Murcia) where she leased a plot to build a small warehouse of her own design, a modular and economical building designed to be transportable, expandable and energy efficient, perfectly integrated into the beautiful landscape of the Natural Park and Bird Reserve where it is located (Sierras de Burete, Lavia and Cambrón, in the northwest of the Region of Murcia). The Modular Winery is located at the foot of the vineyard in a mountain area known as “La Cañada del Jinete”. In this inland and unknown area of the Region of Murcia we find high and fresh places dotted with olive trees, almond trees and old Monastrell vineyards, belonging to small owners-wine growers with whom we cultivate. All elaborations are handmade: each plot offers small batches of grapes that ferment spontaneously and are made without additives. Neither is the wine filtered or subjected to modern technological practices, with the aim of maintaining its authenticity: typicity, local character and features of each climatological vintage in the area. Currently, the project is made up of three wines, each corresponding to one of the three small plots with which we work, located in three high places (between 700 and 800 meters) included within the Bullas PDO: -LA DEL TERRENO: old monastrell on granite gravel elaborated and raised in concrete (Paraje de la Venta del Pino) -LA CAÑADA DEL JINETE: old monastrell on red clay soil elaborated in jars and raised in used wood (Paraje del Jinete) -NINJA DE LAS GRAPES: Red Garnacha on clay soil raised on used wood. First vintage available in November 2018 (Valle del Aceniche)

La del Terreno es el nombre que dan los paisanos de Bullas a la variedad local monastrell. Se trata de un proyecto pequeño, autofinanciado y promovido por Julia Casado (Ing. Agrícola, Lda. en Enología). En 2016, Julia se traslada a la zona de Bullas-Cehegín (Murcia) donde arrenda una parcela para construir una pequeña bodega de diseño propio, un edificio modular y eco- nómico pensado para ser transportable, ampliable y eficiente energéticamente, perfectamente integrado en el precioso paisaje del Parque Natural y Reserva de Aves donde se ubica (Sierras de Burete, Lavia y Cambrón, en el noroeste de la Región de Murcia).

La Bodega Modular se encuentra a pie de viñedo en un para- je de montaña conocido como “La Cañada del Jinete”. En esta zona interior y desconocida de la Región de Murcia en- contramos parajes altos y frescos salpicados de olivos, almendros y viejas viñas de Monastrell, pertenecientes a pe- queños propietarios-viticultores con los que cultivamos.

Todas las elaboraciones son artesanales: cada parcela ofrece pequeñas partidas de uva que fermenta de manera espontánea y se elabora sin aditivos. Tampoco se filtra ni somete el vino a prácticas tecnológicas modernas, con el objetivo de mantener su autenticidad: tipicidad, carácter local y rasgos de cada añada climatológica en la zona.

Actualmente, el proyecto se compone de tres vinos, cada uno correspondiente a una de las tres pequeñas parcelas con las que trabajamos, situadas en tres parajes altos (entre 700 y 800 me- tros) comprendidos dentro de la DOP Bullas:

-LA DEL TERRENO: monastrell vieja sobre grava granítica elaborada y criada en hormigón (Paraje de la Venta del Pino)
-LA CAÑADA DEL JINETE: monastrell vieja sobre suelo de arcilla roja elaborada en tinajas y criada en madera usada (Paraje del Jinete)
-NINJA DE LAS UVAS: garnacha tinta sobre suelo arcilloso criada en madera usada. Primera añada disponible en noviembre de 2018 (Valle del Aceniche)
