Cascina Grillo is located in Piedmont, between the Tanaro and Bormida rivers, a few kilometers from Mombaruzzo. The farm covers 32 hectares of property, 17 of which are dedicated to the vineyard located on a gentle plateau at about 350 meters above sea level. The soil is sandy, loamy and therefore has a great ability to drain water. We run the vineyards with the principles of organic farming, that is, with the exclusion of synthetic chemical elements and respecting the life present in the vineyards. In this way we harvest the ideal grapes for our wines. The wines that are born here reflect the nature and characteristics of the territory, of the vines, of the vintage. They are long-aged wines that come from a careful selection of the grapes, respect for nature and traditions. Nature, at each harvest, puts us to the test and offers us challenges. To overcome them, the only help we believe valid is given by the experience handed down to us by generations of winemakers. Shortcuts do not satisfy us. We believe in viticulture and vinification that, step by step and harvest after harvest, bring us closer to the best interpretation of the vintage, of the grape variety and above all of the territory. This difficult choice fuels our commitment and our passion.

Cascina Grillo si trova in Piemonte, tra il Tanaro ed il Bormida, a pochi chilometri da Mombaruzzo. L’azienda agricola si estende su 32 ettari di proprietà, di cui 17 dedicati al vigneto situati su un dolce altopiano a circa 350 metri s.l.m. Il terreno è sabbioso, limoso e quindi dotato di una grande capacità di drenare l’acqua.

Conduciamo i vigneti con i principi dell’agricoltura biologica, cioè con l’esclusione di elementi chimici di sintesi e nel rispetto della vita presente nelle vigne. In questo modo raccogliamo le uve ideali per i nostri vini.

I vini che qui nascono rispecchiano la natura e le caratteristiche del territorio, dei vitigni, dell’annata. Sono vini da lungo invecchiamento che nascono da un’accurata selezione delle uve, dal rispetto della natura e delle tradizioni.

La natura, ad ogni vendemmia, ci mette alla prova e ci offre delle sfide. Per superarle, l’unico aiuto che crediamo valido è dato dall’esperienza tramandataci da generazioni di vignaioli. Le scorciatoie non ci soddisfano.

Crediamo in una viticoltura e in una vinificazione che, passo dopo passo e vendemmia dopo vendemmia, ci avvicini alla migliore interpretazione dell’annata, del vitigno e soprattutto del territorio. Questa difficile scelta alimenta il nostro impegno e la nostra passione.
