“It was in 1988 that the history of wine began at Maison Bonnard. The two brothers, Roland and Frédéric settle down with one hectare of vines, in the middle of their parents' mixed farming activity.
Today, thirty years later, the estate extends over 16 hectares, with a new generation joining the ranks... Romain and Anne-Sophie.”
In the heart of Bugey, a vineyard nestled between Savoie, Jura and the Rhône Valley, is the small village of Crept. Here, the raw beauty of the landscape reveals a contrasting relief whose view is breathtaking. Over the years we have managed to find terroirs that speak to us and that allow us to create the wines we love. Our vines are planted on the steep hillsides of Montagnieu, ranging from 30 to 70% slope. Limestone scree for Mondeuse and Pinot Noir. Deep clays for the highness. And clays
limestone composed of rolled pebbles for chardonnay and gamay. We have always worked with common peasant sense; then from vintage to vintage, biodynamics became obvious. In order to respect and best reveal the authenticity of our terroirs.
In line with the work carried out in the vineyard, we vinify and age our wines by letting nature take its course. In order to offer healthy wines, without input, apart from a minimal quantity of sulfur during bottling. Our work schedule is strictly synchronized with the lunar calendar.
By letting nature take its course, we succeed in obtaining pure wines, wines of character, with a typicity that reflects our terroirs and our Alpine grape varieties. Three words to describe our wines: healthy, magnetic and balanced.
