I am always been interested in wine and in the wine traditions all over the world; finally, in 2015, I was able to start my own viticultural farm Emilio Sciacca Etna Wine, through the renovation of an ancient estate on Mount Etna, a land that I always loved. The philosophy of my company is to work, both in the vineyards and in the winery, in complete respect and harmony with nature, that we consider as a companion, sometimes even a teacher for us. In 2018, from the first harvest were born our 3 labels: Biancopiglio (Etna Bianco D.O.C.), Rossobrillo (Etna Rosso D.O.C.), Neromagno (Etna Rosso D.O.C.), all produced from native grapes of the volcano. We made approximately 10000 bottles in 2018 and approximately 15000 in 2019. We are a small company but we are animated by a strong passion for good wines and for our land and its traditions. We work both in the vineyard and in the winery respecting nature, convinced that it is a travelling companion and not an adversary to dominate. Field treatments are based on sulphur and copper and we use organic fertilizer or green manure. We do not irrigate, and the harvest is manual. In the cellar the fermentations are spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, do not spin and do not clarify, and the use of sulphites is reduced to a minimum (our wines available are all maximum 40 mg/l or less). Finally, we do not use plastic in the vineyard or in packaging. Since 2019 we are in progress to certify organic and the Certification body of organic production is Bioagricert srl .
