Agricola La Mision, located near the village of Cauquenes in the Maule Valley, Chile was founded in 2016 by Elena Pantaleoni, famous Italian winemaker from the La Stoppa estate and her friend Nicola Massa, also a wine professional. Wine has been produced in the region since the 16th century thanks to Spanish missionaries and today some (non-grafted) vines are between 100 and 300 years old. Nicola Massa has spent many months in the region to meet former producers and understand their way of working. In 2016 he selected 4 hectares of vines over 100 years old, ungrafted and non-irrigated, planted on granite soils. This estate gives pride of place to pais, the oldest grape variety planted in the country, which allows them to safeguard the region's century-old vineyards. Here, wine production is as natural as possible, from work in the vines (without pesticides, plowing on horseback, manual destemming, etc.) to that in the cellar (trampling underfoot, spontaneous fermentation, long maceration on the skins, aging in old barrels, no added sulphites and no filtration). The aim of the estate is to promote their typical grape variety thanks to natural wines with great aging potential.

L'agricola La Mision, située près du village de Cauquenes dans la vallée du Maule, au Chili fut fondé en 2016 par Elena Pantaleoni, célèbre viticultrice italienne du domaine de La Stoppa et son ami Nicola Massa, lui aussi professionnel du vin. Du vin est produit dans la région depuis le XVIe siècle grâce aux missionnaires espagnols et aujourd'hui, certaines vignes (non-greffées) sont âgées d'entre 100 et 300 ans. Nicola Massa a passé de longs mois dans la région pour rencontrer d'anciens producteurs et comprendre leur manière de travailler. En 2016 il a sélectionné 4 hectares de vignes âgées de plus de 100 ans, non greffées et non irriguées, plantées sur des sols granitiques. Ce domaine fait la part belle au pais, cépage le plus ancien planté dans le pays, ce qui leur permet de sauvegarder des vignobles centenaires de la région. Ici, la production du vin est la plus naturelle possible, du travail dans les vignes (sans pesticides, labour à cheval, égrappage manuel…) jusqu'à celui au chai (foulage aux pieds, fermentations spontanées, longue macération sur peaux, élevage en vieilles barriques, pas de sulfites ajoutés et pas de filtration). Le but du domaine est de promouvoir leur cépage typique grâce à des vins naturels de grande garde.
